Summer Reading Finale!

Join us for our Summer Reading Finale on Friday, August 8 at 3:00!

At the finale, children will enjoy the interactive storytelling show, Dragons and Dreams, presented by Sciencetellers.

Dragons and Dreams tells the story of a faraway world with castles, kings, dragon keepers, ice sorceresses, and a powerful item known as the Horn of Fire.  Two villagers must take a daring journey to release the dragons and save the entire kingdom.  Children will learn about the science of fire and ice through this spectacular adventure.  This tale features interactive science experiments with dry ice, flash paper, exploding bottles, and much more.  

Families with children of all ages are welcome to attend.  This program is free and open to area residents.  

The top readers of the Summer Reading Program will be announced, and participants may enter their final raffle tickets.  For more info please call 203-263-3502.

Summer Programs!

Ones & Twos: songs, rhymes, dancing and stories for children ages 18-36 months and a caregiver. 
Mondays, July 7-28 at 10:30

Preschool Story Time: stories, rhymes, and crafts for ages 3-5. 
Mondays, July 7-28 at 11:30

Drop In Story Time: children of all ages may drop in for stories and crafts.  No registration is necessary.
Fridays at 10:30

Music Together Sing-along Storytime:
Children ages birth – 5 and caregivers may join Leslie from Soulshine Arts as she bring storybooks to life through song!  Participants will "sing" through beautifully illustrated picture books based on songs from Music Together's award-winning Family Favorites CDs, as well as some other familiar books and traditional tunes.

Kellogg Environmental Center will present a nature program based on the book “In the Woods:  Who’s Been Here?” by Lindsay Barrett George for children ages 4-6.

“How Cool is That?!” creator Velya Jancz-Urban will present hands on science programs for children entering grades 2-5.  Children may register for one or more classes.

Families may drop in to play Bingo for candy and small prizes on Thursdays, July 10-August 7 at 7:00

Children of all ages may drop in to play with our large collection of LEGO bricks and complete a weekly challenge for a prize on Saturdays , June 28-July 26 from 10:00-5:00.

FIZZ, BOOM, READ! 2014 Summer Reading Program

The Woodbury Public Library's 2014 Summer Reading Program runs June 21-August 8. 

Children are welcome to join our online summer reading program for kids!  From the main page of our website, www.woodburylibraryct.org, click on "FIZZ, BOOM, READ-Children's Log In!"  Sign up by entering your child's information, including his or her library card number and a password of your choice.  Log in the hours read throughout the summer, and pick up raffle tickets or small prizes at the library.  

Pre-readers and beginning readers have a program of their very own.  Register in person at the library and receive a game piece when you sign up.  Record the titles of the books you read in a special reading log, then move your game piece when you visit the library.  Your child will win small prizes and raffle tickets for larger prizes.

Summer Reading Kickoff

All ages are welcome to kickoff summer reading with juggling, fire eating, and yo-yo tricks with Eric Girardi of Bending Gravity!  Children may also complete a library scavenger hunt for a reading bag and prize.
