Free Music Together and Children's Yoga Demo

Leslie Pratt of Soulshine Arts will return to the library to offer a free demo of a Music Together class. Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music and movement program for children from birth through age 5—and the grownups who love them. This program pioneered the concept of a research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement.

Music Together classes are based on the recognition that all children are musical. All children can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat, and participate with confidence in the music of our culture, provided that their early environment supports such learning.

Parents and children are also welcome to stay for a free demo of yoga for children ages 2-5, provided by Jen Lizotte, owner of the Tula Family Enrichment Center in Middlebury. Please bring a yoga mat if you have one, we will have a few extra. Wear comfortable clothes, no jeans or hardware please. The breath work, poses, relaxation and essential teachings of yoga are presented very differently to children than they are to adults in order to bring these lessons to children at their level. This means a children's class will look and sound very different from an adult class. You can expect games, songs, laughter, loud voices, adventures and an all-together creative exploration of yoga.
Join us on Friday, June 14, 2:00-2:30 for Music Together and 2:45-3:15 for kid's yoga!

Participants may register for one or both demos.
Call the library at 203-263-3502 for registration info.
